Welcome to the Toyota of Wallingford WOW Radio, located inside the Wallingford, CT, dealership. We are streaming the '60s, '70s, and '80s live from our studio.
Not only are we passionate about new Toyota cars, trucks, and SUVs, but we are also passionate about music. We stream the hits live from our WOW studio so that you can listen online at your leisure. From the Rolling Stones to Def Lepard and everything in between, we will spice up your day with the tunes you love!
We have 2 local radio celebrities working on-air: Brian Smith(formerly of Smith and Barber in the Morning) and Pam Landry(formerly of Landry's Luncheonette)
Our owner, Steve, is a huge radio guy. He was on local FM stations back in the 80s/90s, and advertising on radio really helped catapult him to a position as an owner from just a manager back then. So when we built the new store, he put a radio station in, and WOW Radio was born
We are pleased to announce that Pam Landry, formerly of Landry Lunchonnette, has joined the WOW Radio Team! She is a veteran radio broadcaster and was previously appointed operations manager at Quinnipiac University’s radio station AM 1220 WQUN. She also worked on and off at WQUN since 2009.
She also worked as a correspondent for the New Haven Register, an editor at Patch.com, a music director at WPLR-FM in New Haven, and in positions at radio stations in the Connecticut and New York area. Landry has also done voiceover work for the VH1 Radio Network and narrated the audiobook “Honest Money” by Douglas Gnazzo.
Meet Sarah Lee. Our “unofficial” mascot and most important curator of classic tunes keeps the music "pupping." This fluffy pooch is the heart and soul of the operation and doesn't hound around when it comes to our music selection. Some of Sarah Lee’s favorite tunes include:
Be sure to say hi if you see her roaming the showroom, and be sure to "Give the Dog a Bone," and you'll be fast friends!
Currently, we are an online streaming internet radio studio inside the Toyota of Wallingford dealership in Wallingford, CT. In the future, we hope to be a full-fledged FM radio station broadcasting station on 102.1-FM at the dealership on Route 5 within the next several months once FCC approval is achieved.
The effort, which will be audible throughout New Haven County and down to Stamford and available online and with an app, awaits final Federal Communications Commission approval. Landry said that the station already has a transmitter that has been tested, meaning that FCC approval could come at any time.
Stream online today, and let our musical collection from the 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s "WOW" your day
