Introducing the All-New 2026 Toyota bZ Woodland

An Electric SUV That Actually Belongs on the Trail

Toyota's electric vehicle lineup just got a whole lot more rugged. The 2026 Toyota bZ Woodland brings trail-ready capability to the BEV world with 375 horsepower, standard all-wheel drive, and enough towing muscle to haul your weekend gear wherever the road leads.

  • The bZ Woodland packs a 74.7 kWh battery that provides an EPA-estimated 281 miles of range on all-season tires.
  • Standard AWD with X-MODE gives drivers confidence on gravel, snow, and everything in between.
  • With 8.4 inches of ground clearance and a 3,500-pound towing capacity, this electric SUV handles more than grocery runs.

Power That Keeps Up With Your Plans

Forget the idea that electric vehicles can't handle real work. The bZ Woodland runs dual electric motors at the front and rear axles, producing a net combined output of 375 horsepower. That makes it the most powerful entry in Toyota's bZ family. The instant torque you get from an electric drivetrain means responsive acceleration, whether you're merging onto the highway or pulling away from a campsite.

Towing capacity hits 3,500 pounds, which covers small campers, jet skis, ATVs, and most boat trailers. The X-MODE system lets you dial in traction settings based on road conditions, adjusting power delivery to keep you moving forward on loose gravel, mud, or packed snow. Steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters control regenerative braking intensity, so you can capture more energy on downhill stretches or let the SUV coast more freely on flat terrain.

Charging and Range Specs

Under the floor sits a 74.7 kWh lithium-ion battery that supports an EPA-estimated total driving range of 281 miles with standard all-season tires. Opt for the available all-terrain tires, and that number drops to around 260 miles, which still covers most weekend trips without a mid-route charge.

DC fast charging through the NACS port gets you from 10% to 80% in roughly 30 minutes under ideal conditions. The battery preconditioning feature warms the cells to optimal charging temperature automatically when you set a charging station as your navigation destination. For home charging, Toyota includes a dual-voltage cable that works with both 120V and 240V outlets, so overnight Level 2 charging takes no extra effort.

Built to Handle the Outdoors

Ground clearance hits 8.4 inches, which gives you enough room for rutted forest roads and rocky trailheads. Black overfenders add visual muscle while protecting the body panels from trail debris. Standard roof rails accept crossbars for kayaks, bikes, or cargo boxes, and the 18-inch aluminum wheels wear removable aero covers that can come off when you want a more aggressive look.

Inside, the cargo area stretches to 74.3 cubic feet with the rear seats folded flat. Leave the second row up, and you still get over 30 cubic feet behind it, plenty of room for camping gear, coolers, or luggage. The Panoramic View Monitor with Multi-Terrain Monitor helps you see obstacles around the vehicle when maneuvering in tight spots.

Inside the Cabin

A 14-inch Toyota Audio Multimedia touchscreen anchors the dashboard and supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Dual Qi-compatible wireless chargers keep phones topped off without cable clutter. Customizable ambient lighting with 64 color options lets you set the mood, and Digital Key capability means your smartphone can lock, unlock, and start the vehicle.

Both trims include SofTex-trimmed seats with heating for the front and outboard rear positions. The Premium grade adds ventilation to the front seats along with a memory function for the driver's seat and mirrors. A fixed glass panoramic moonroof opens up the cabin with natural light, while front radiant heaters provide warmth that feels more like sunshine than forced air.

Six Color Choices to Consider

Toyota created a new exterior shade called Stepping Stone specifically for the bZ Woodland. Other options include Halo, Steel, Pavement, Raven Black, and Trueno Blue. These earth-tone and bold color choices fit the outdoor personality of the SUV without straying into flashy territory.
