Going EV is Easy with Toyota's New Smart Mobility Park

Toyota of Wallingford is much more than a dealership, we also offer a auto service department and sponsor an annual charity golf tournament! Like us, the automaker's reach extends well beyond its lineup of valued vehicles. In fact, many of the brand's alternative products can be found in the Japanese metropolis named after it: Toyota City.

The city boasts an especially friendly district-- eco-friendly, that is-- that goes by the name of "Toyota Ecoful Town." The low-carbon society model will become even greener with the brand's installation of a charging station, dedicated to boosting the use and convenience of electric vehicle driving.

The Smart Mobility Park charging station will serve the basic purpose of charging locals' EVs. What is special about Toyota's electric mobility facility is it not only generates electricity, but it stores energy collected from the sun via its solar panels. The useful function relieves demand on the town's electricity grid.

Furthermore, the park acts as an electric mobility sharing hub. Smart Mobility Park offers renters the choice between two types of new Toyota three "COMS," which are mini single-occupant electric vehicles produced by Toyota, or one of its five "PAS," an acronym for power-assisted bicycles. Using a smartcard, residents can unlock an EV and borrow it for short distance traveling.

Though the Smart Mobility Park is exclusive to the automaker's home country, it may not be too long before we see a similar establishment here in Wallingford, CT. For continued updates on Toyota, about its lineup and beyond, stay tuned to our blog.
