2013 Toyota Corolla Spied Overseas

In case you weren't aware, the lauded Toyota Corolla is in for a redesign in its 2013 model year, and the Japanese automaker is currently testing it overseas. How does Toyota of Wallingford know this? If we were to say that we're employing a group of secretive spies to photograph the next-gen compact, we'd be lying. Rather, the test vehicle was simply spotted by a lucky bystander who happened to snap a couple quick shots of it.

Nonetheless, the pictures that our staff saw were enough to get us excited. The redesigned Corolla was seen sporting a hatchback body style (but we can safely expect a sedan variant), and it boasted some heavy camouflage in order to hide the finer points of the vehicle's reworked elements. This makes perfect sense, though, as Toyota doesn't want the vehicle's new look to surface before their official reveal.

However, no amount of camo can stop a well-trained eye from spotting some of the changes that Toyota has in store for the Corolla in 2013. So what has changed? First, there's the front-end grille. It's unique V shape caught our attention almost right off the bat. Meanwhile, other elements, like the headlights and body lines, are clearly inspired by the redesign that the 2012 Toyota Camry saw.

We don't know about you, but hearing this is more than enough to get us excited to see what else the Toyota Corolla has in store for the 2013 model year. For more details as they emerge, make sure to stay tuned. Everyone here at 859 North Colony Rd, Wallingford, CT is dedicated to keeping you informed!

Toyota Releases Teaser Video for NS4 Plug-In Hybrid

We here at Toyota Of Wallingford have got to hand it to Toyota. The Japanese automaker sure knows how to tease a big reveal without giving all the juicy details away. The company recently released a video to hype up the unveiling of the all-new Toyota NS4 Plug-In Hybrid, and we simply cannot get enough of it!

The video in question features a futuristic vibe, while showing off close-up shots of the NS4. Without flat-out showing off the vehicle in its entirety, Toyota is able to convey the fact that this is a hybrid with a bit of an edge. This is further confirmed by the teaser image that was recently released too. It shows the front hood and headlight of the NS4 with a sleek chrome slat that flows quite nicely with the front-end as a whole.

Of course, Toyota revealed nothing about what the NS4 will pack under the hood. For some speculation, we can turn to the soon-to-be-released Toyota Prius Plug-In Hybrid. It packs a 1.8-liter, 98-hp, inline-four engine with a 80-hp electric motor under the hood. That said, we want to know what you think... Will the Toyota NS4 feature a similar powertrain to the Toyota Prius Plug-In Hybrid? Or will Toyota opt for a bit more performance in this latest plug-in hybrid? Leave us a comment and let us know what you think!

In the end, we all know that whether or not the NS4 features more ponies under the hood is secondary to its fuel economy. No matter what aspect of this exciting new Toyota model you're keeping an eye on, make sure to stay tuned for more information on it as it becomes available. After all, Toyota Of Wallingford, located at 859 North Colony Rd, Wallingford, CT is dedicated to keeping you informed!

Toyota Fun-Vii is a Smartphone on Four Wheels

We know, we know, the name "Fun-Vii" sounds like the name of the latest Nintendo gaming system or Android-powered device. But that's exactly what Toyota is going for here. They want it to appeal to today's tech-hungry youth in as many ways as possible. The concept vehicle was recently unveiled at the 2011 Tokyo Motor Show, and if Toyota Of Wallingford had to describe it in one word, it would be dynamic.

The vehicle's exterior and interior are always changing and able to be customized to the driver's taste or mood on the fly. Inside, the driver can adjust the lighting by choosing from a wide variety of colors and brightness settings to give it the atmosphere that is most appealing to them. Meanwhile, even the exterior can be made to reflect the driver's taste through a new project that Toyota developed with the Copenhagen Institute of Interaction Design.

Known as "Windows to the World," the Toyota Fun-Vii features an incredibly detailed LCD panel in place of a typical paint job. This display can be customized with patterns, wallpapers, and images to reflect the owner's personal taste.

These elements work to make the Toyota Fun-Vii more than just a futuristic-looking ride, though; they turn it into something that's more of a reflection of a person's taste than any online profile or tech-gadget ever could. "A car must appeal to our emotions," explains Toyota president, Akio Toyoda. "If it's not fun, it's not a car."1

Of course, this is also the attitude towards the development of every new Toyota model that Toyota Of Wallingford carries at 859 North Colony Rd. Wallingford, CT, so it honestly doesn't surprise us that a vehicle like the Fun-Vii would be the next step in the company's evolution. Still, if you'd like to learn more about the Japanese automaker's current offerings, we invite you to contact us today.

Toyota Proud to show off 2012 Camry Pace Car for Daytona 500

Toyota is prepared to make history by being the first non-American automaker to supply the pace car for the Daytona 500. The track-taming vehicle in question is a Toyota Camry SE, with a powerful 268-hpV6 engine under the hood.

While the Camry itself is impressive and has been bestowed with some impressive enhancements, some question whether or not Toyota has truly earned the right to be featured in the "Great American Race,". This question has sparked Toyota Of Wallingford to go over the contributions that Toyota has made to the NASCAR community, since first becoming involved on the track.

  • 2004, the Tundra began racing in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS),
  • 2007, the automaker officially entered into the Camry into the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) and NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS)

Since, then, they've managed to win 3 manufacturer's titles in a row in the NASCAR Nationwide Series (2008-2010) while registering 60 individual race victories along the way. Meanwhile, in the NASCAR Spring Cup Series, Toyota has managed to pick up 36 victories.

We think that Toyota has, without question, earned the right to pace the Dayton 500 with the victory-hungry Camry. After all, both the Camry and Tundra have managed to snag 8 NASCAR wins at the infamous track, including 3 national touring series wins, and 5 NCWTS wins.

For any automaker to tame the legendary track in such a short period of time is truly a feat to be admired, and Toyota Of Wallingford, located at 859 North Colony Rd, Wallingford, CT 06492, is looking forward to catching all the Daytona action on February 25th.

The 2011 SEMA Show has come and gone, and with it go some of the most interesting, custom-made vehicles that Toyota Of Wallingford has ever laid eyes on. Some automakers brought supercharged variants of their flagship models, while others opted to give them more utility. The Ultimate Motocross Truck from Toyota is a Tundra Double Cab 4X4 that blends both elements to meet the needs of professional riders both on and off the track.

What makes this Tundra the Ultimate Motocross Truck? First, there's the fact that Toyota took the time to listen to the feedback of various motocross riders in regards to what they'd like to see in a vehicle that can make attending shows a little easier. After taking what they had to say to heart, Toyota enlisted the help of West Coast Customs to make the collective dreams of motocross riders into a reality.

The Ultimate Motocross Truck is fitted with 128 X 9 KMC wheels with 35 X 12.5 X 18 General tires, Fox racing shocks, and a Camburg Racing suspension lift. And, that's only the beginning. From there, the truck also given a Line-X paintjob with contrasting DC graphics, a suicide tailgate, winch for loading bikes into the truck's bead, and even a water pressure washer for cleaning up after putting on a good show.

In fact, Toyota Of Wallingford, located at 859 North Colony Rd, Wallingford CT, is hard pressed to find something that a Morocross rider wouldn't like about this truck. We'd say that the folks at West Coast Customs did their job and did it well. But, what about you? Do you think the Ultimate Motocross Truck lives up to its name? Or, are there other features that you'd like to see in it? Let us know by leaving a comment!

Toyota has a Breakthrough in Ethanol Production

Toyota has already brought us many hybrid variants of Toyota Prius available at Toyota Of Wallingford, located at 859 North Colony Rd, Wallingford CT. But they are only starting with electric - they want to be remembered for more advancements in fuel consumption.

The auto maker is looking into a better ethanol. New yeast being developed that will more efficiently ferments xylose, sugar produced when plant fibers break down, basically creating a super fuel.

This newly developed yeast produces the highest ethanol fermentation level known to human kind, and is capable of improving bio-fuel quality while also reducing production costs. Plans to perfect this ethanol, along with making ethanol a widely available commodity, are set to be completed by 2020.

The Toyota Biotechnology and Afforestation Laboratory is also developing a "cool-spot creation technology" for simulating the cooling effects of shade created by trees to be used in cars.1
