Will The Toyota Yaris Get a Sportier Flair?

We here at Toyota of Wallingford know greater Hartford-area drivers love the 2012 Toyota Yaris. And why wouldn't they? It's a reliable subcompact hatchback that boasts a laudable mpg rating. We honestly can't think of what else you could want in a small car.

Of course, leave it to the people at Toyota to know exactly what we want even before we do. New renderings have been leaked online that show what looks like a Yaris hatchback with a sportier design, and we think it could be the first images of a new, more aggressively-styled trim.

Here's what we know about it so far from the first pictures.

The hatchback in question is clearly a Yaris. It shares the same overall shape of the subcompact Toyota, but is also equipped with a few changes; the most immediately noticeable of which is a luxury-inspired, mesh-style, front-end grille. Other alterations that caught our eye pretty quickly are its bulging front and rear fenders and its multi-spoke wheels.

In the end, every aspect of this more aggressive Yaris works together to confirm that this is not the same hatchback we've come to love; it's something completely different. And if you'd like to learn more about it, be sure to stay tuned to our blog. We'll post updates the moment we hear them.

Three More Toyota Models Take Home Prestigious Honors

For those of you out there who haven't heard of TotalCarScore.com before, we here at Toyota Of Wallingford would highly recommend checking it out. Think of it as a Meta Critic or Rotten Tomatoes of the automotive world. In other words, it's an aggregate site that takes reviews from around the web and translates them into one common score out of 100.

Seem like a noble idea? It is. And it's also one that's being met with quite a bit of enthusiasm from drivers, critics, and automakers alike. That said, TotalCarScore.com has opted to hold its first ever "Top Scoring Vehicle" awards in honor of, you guessed it, the vehicles that perform the on the site.

And while it might be impressive for Toyota to earn one award, we're quite thrilled to say that the Japanese automaker actually earned three. The winning models include the mid-size Toyota Camry, the full-size Toyota Avalon, and the Toyota Tundra pickup truck - each of which is available for a test drive today at 859 North Colony Rd. Wallingford, CT 06492.

These three models represent the best of the best in terms of what their segment has to offer, and any one of them would make a great vehicle for just about any driver. That said, if none of them meet your needs, feat not. There are a wide range of other award-winning new Toyota models that we keep in stock. Simply contact us to learn more.

Toyota Records Incredible Sales of Prius Plug-In

In our last post, we here at Toyota of Wallingford outlined how long it typically takes to sell a 2012 Toyota Prius c. And while that might seem impressive, we have another sales statistic that's will wow you even more.

The 2012 Toyota Prius Plug-In is the newest member of the Prius Family of Cars, and it's available for a test drive here at 859 North Colony Rd. Wallingford, CT 06492. Last month, it sold a total of 1,654 units last month across the country.

Doesn't seem like a whole lot at a glance? Allow us to put it into perspective. Last month, its two biggest competitors, the Volt and Leaf, both sold fewer models. Respectively, they sold 1,462 and 370 units last month. And they've been well established within the automotive world for years longer than the Prius Plug-In. In other words, the 2012 Toyota Prius Plug-In is living up to the high standards that the original 2012 Toyota Prius has set in place.

And it's continuing to sell quite well too, as are all other Prius models. In fact, last month's Prius sales topped a combined 25,168 units. What's more incredible is that number marks a 126.9-percent increase over the same time last year. In other words, more drivers near Hartford and beyond are looking to save money at the pump, and the Prius Family of Cars is the best way to do so.

Of course, should you not be in the market for a hybrid, we carry a wide range of other new Toyota models that are ready to be taken for a test drive today. Or, if you're simply interested in more Toyota news, then be sure to stay tuned.
