Toyota Of Wallingford was proud to find out that the Prius was able to defy the title of the "Best Green Car to Buy" awards by making the judges choose a total of four models, instead of a single vehicle. We saw awards distributed to the 2012 Toyota Prius, Toyota Prius v, Toyota Prius Plug-In, and Toyota Prius C, as they all took home the top honors. If this was not impressive enough, the last two models mentioned above aren't even set to be released until the spring of 2013!
While it would be easy to assume just because it is a Prius it was able to capture this award, we decided to look into it a little further. The family of vehicles was given the prestigious title of "Best Green Car to Buy" simply because of the incredible fuel economy that each model carries!
- The original Toyota Prius is able to achieve 50 mpg combined (51 city/48 highway).
- The all new Prius v,
which provides more cargo space than 80 percent of small SUVs, was rated for 44 mpg city and 40 mpg highway.
- The Prius C boasts 50 mpg city, which is higher than any other non-plug-in
model
- The Prius Plug-In Hybrid can get up to 87 MPGe (miles per gallon equivalent) when in electric mode and 49 mpg when in hybrid mode.
We believe this information is all you need to know to determine that Prius is truly the hybrid king. Of course, if you require first-hand proof of this notion, you could always arrange a test drive at 859 North Colony Rd, Wallingford, CT to see for yourself.
