Here at Toyota of Wallingford, we sell a wide range of 2012 Toyota Tundra models. In fact, up until recently, we were tempted to say we'd seen every type of Toyota trucks out there.

So what changed our mind?

That would be a special-edition Toyota Tundra that was recently put up for sale at the Barret-Jackson Charity Auction. Specially created by NASCAR driver, Clint Bowyer, the truck looks like something out of the American heartland...

...Which is exactly what it's supposed to pay tribute to. The specially-designed Toyota Tundra wowed all in attendance by looking much older than it actually is, but in a way that honors the long-lasting quality that Toyota is known for.

Specifically, it features a white-painted vertical grille, a wood-bed floor with matching side rails, vintage-looking 20-inch wheels, and rusted-red paintjob that's done entirely by hand. In the end, Bowyer's creation is something that any true truck enthusiast would love to own, and the fact that he even offered up an authentic racing suit and tickets for next year's Daytona 500 only sweetened the deal for potential buyers.

And it worked. At the auction, bidding for the custom Toyota Tundra quickly shot from $30,000 to about $100,000.
