Toyota Moving Highlander Production to US

Toyota Motors has had a long tradition of building their famous cars like the Camry, Avalon and Prius hybrids in America. Now due to overwhelming demand for the upgraded Toyota Highlander, the company will be moving their production of that vehicle to the United States.

The redesigned 2010 Toyota Highlander is bringing in even more attention then the previous years of its line thanks to a new, edgier look and better gasoline mileage than ever. The car, built currently in Japan, will be moved to a plant somewhere in Indiana.

This move will set Highlander production at the center of the automotive world's eye - The United States.

It also puts Highlander in proximity to its two largest and best selling markets: America and Mexico. Sales in both countries continue to grow steadily for the Toyota SUV year to year.

Toyota's subsidiary, Toyota Motor Kyushu Inc., in Fukuoka's city of Miyawaka, is expected to transfer production of the SUVs, which totals about 2,000 a month, to Indiana in August.

No word yet on where this Indiana plant will be built. Those working in Japan also do not have to worry about losing their jobs - that facility will continue to produce the hybrid version of Highlander, as well as build the Australian variant.

So head on down to Toyota of Wallingford - 859 North Colony Rd., Wallingford, CT 06492 and check out the all new 2010 Toyota Highlander - soon to be built in America!
