2010 Toyota Prius

2010 Toyota Prius First Look

By Ron Jackson

Last week I had the pleasure of attending a traning class for the 2010 Prius. All I can say is WOW! What a vehicle! Toyota took what was already the #1 selling Hybrid vehicle and made it even better. The new body style although close in shape to the previous generation because of its low coefficient of drag has great lines and a sportier look. The interior cockpit is comfortable and everything is layed out within arms reach. The available technology in the Prius V is amazing. The vehicle practically drives itself!

Here are how the trims breakdown

I also got to check out the new Honda Insight. I would have to wonder why anyone would actually consider a it over the 2010 Prius especially when you take into account the Prius II is only $800 more. The Prius beats the 2010 Honda Insight in every aspect. Gas mileage, interior space, available options, not to mention pure looks. If you are over 5 10" don't try to sit in the back of the insight because you will hit your head on the back window. Prius VS Insight advantages

    • The Prius is a midsize vehicle while the Insight is a compact

    • Better fuel economy 50 combined vs 41

    • Prius 134 combined HP vs 98

    • Prius has Standard drivers knee airbag- not available on Honda

    • Prius has available solar moonroof- not available on insight

    • Prius has standard Brake Assist- not available on Insight

    • Three driving modes- Prius you can choose from Eco, Power, or Econ to customize   your miles per gallon and driving experience vs only 2 modes on insight standard and econ.

Here are the advantages of 2010 vs the 2009

    • More fuel efficient

    • More powerful

    • More front leg room, wider cabin, and more cargo space

    • More standard safety feature

The vehicle is simply impressive. We are expecting our first one within a few weeks. We are taking orders for anyone interested. Feel free to contact me with any questions.
